Kogi, is a state in the central region of Nigeria. It is popularly called the Confluence State because of the confluence of River Niger and River Benue at its capital, Lokoja.
Kogi State has a Large deposits of Tantalite ore. The deposits are both alluvial and primary in the numerous pegmatite bodies that infest these areas.
Tantalite Ore can also be found in other states in Nigeria in traces, small and huge deposits such as; Nasarawa, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara and Cross Rivers.
